With a lifelong interest in the stock market and how people make money, I have seen the financial industry transform from a stock brokerage business to one focused on financial planning and comprehensive wealth management. This evolution excites me, as it allows me to help people define and pursue their financial goals while building lasting relationships. My journey began in Michigan, but I moved to Tennessee at 13, settling in Brentwood. I attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where I earned a BS in Marketing. After meeting my Wife, Susan, we moved to Memphis for her Pharmacy School before returning to Knoxville in 1989.
Initially, I pursued a career in the golf business, aspiring to be a club professional. However, my passion for financial advising prevailed. Today, I hold the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation and possess FINRA Series 7, 8, 31, 63, and 65 securities registrations. Additionally, I completed the Management Development Program at the Wharton School. Beyond my professional life, I enjoy golf, fishing, traveling, and working in my yard. My family is a significant part of my life, with Susan and our Daughters, Hannah and Claire, who are both married and have blessed us with two Granddaughters, Blair and June, and a Grandson, Bennett.
Family ties extend into my business as well. My Son-in-law, Ed Dickinson, recently joined our firm after a successful engineering and sales career. Our vision is for Ed to grow his branch of the business and, eventually, take over the firm. I am also active in my community, having served as President of the Tennessee Troupe "N Travel (TTT)," a social group that hosts events and travels to Tennessee football games. Additionally, I have been involved with the Knoxville Business Association since 2006 and have been a member of Cokesbury UMC Church since 1993, where I've formed many cherished friendships.
